Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
People share tender things here. That makes privacy more important on this site than on most, and we have tried to collect as little as the site needs to work — and nothing more.
What we collect
There are no user accounts on this site. You never register, and we never ask for your email address to create a memorial.
- The memorial content you write — names, dates, memories, legacy messages, and any photo you upload.
- An anonymous visitor identifier — a random ID kept in your browser so a candle, rose, or prayer can only be left once per memorial. It is not linked to your name, email, or anything else about you.
- Simple share counts — we note which platform a memorial was shared to, with no personal data attached.
What we never do
We show no advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with anyone. We do not track you across the web, build interest profiles about you, or measure your “engagement”. This site has no interest in your attention — only in keeping memories safe.
Anonymity, kept
Every memorial is submitted without an identity attached. If you publish anonymously, no name is shown anywhere — not on the memorial page, not in the archive, not on share images. If you choose to show a name or relationship, only what you chose to show is displayed; we hold nothing more about you behind it.
Photos
A photo attached to a public memorial is stored publicly, which means anyone with the link can view it. One gentle piece of advice: photos can carry hidden metadata such as the location where they were taken. Most phones remove this when you share a photo, but if it worries you, consider stripping the metadata before uploading.
Visibility levels
- Public — the memorial appears in the archive, can be found by visitors, and may be indexed by search engines.
- Unlisted — the memorial is reachable only by its direct link. It does not appear in the archive, and we ask search engines not to index it.
Deleting your memorial
If you want a memorial changed or removed, use the report form or email us — a moderator will take care of it, usually within a few days. Removed memorials disappear from the site immediately, and remaining copies are cleared from our backups shortly afterwards.
Where your data lives
Memorials and photos are stored with Supabase, our database and storage provider, and are encrypted in transit. Access to that data is limited to what the site needs in order to run and to what our moderators need in order to review reports.
